KEVIN DOHERTY
Kevin Doherty was born in Buncrana, Co Donegal in 1967.

His life as a writer began when he first became aware of the long northern sunsets, particularly those starring the winter sun. He started playing music in his mid-teens, not for the fame and the money, but because he needed somewhere to hang his words and the guitar provided.

When almost ready, he stepped out of the night and into a session that led to his first band 'The Pyros', breakneck authentic bluegrass born and bred in Buncrana.

Thence to the Northern Country legends The Gooseberries.

A change of address to Dublin was soon followed by an invitation to join traditional giants 'Four Men and a Dog', with Kevin's original material becoming a major part of their repertoire as they criss-cross the globe.

He has recorded with and been recorded by 'The Band' and 'The Crowmatix' in America.

He has written with Paul Brady. His songs have been recorded by artists in Europe and the U.S. He has just recorded his third solo album 'Telegraph' following on from 'Sweetwater' and 'Strange Weather'.

He says that his life is not his own and that when he finds out who owns it, he's sure to have words with them.
